Troya Savaşının kahramanı ve İthake Kralı Odysseusun macera dolu vatana dönüş öyküsünü ve karısı Penelopeia ile evlenmek isteyen talipleri öldürmesini anlatan Odysseia, Odysseusun Ogygie adasındaki esareti ile başlar. Odysseianın edebi değeri tüm dünya tarafından tartışmasız kabul görmektedir.
