Bona Finish Compound Editorial Review

Bona Mega ONE SEMI Gloss is a water-based floor coating that provides an easy and efficient way to seal and protect wood floors. Customers have praised this product for its ease of use, quick drying time, and beautiful results. One customer mentioned that they prepped their original wood floors and applied three coats of Bona Mega ONE SEMI Gloss using a 24-inch sweeper applicator. They found the process to be easy and had excellent results. Another customer shared that they applied three coats in one day over bare redwood sanded floors, without using a sealer or sanding between coats, and their floors have held up well for two years. Customers have also commented positively on the coverage and odor of the product. They found that it provided excellent coverage, with one customer pouring a line of the product on the floor and using a 24-inch swivel sweep applicator for application. The odor was reported to be minimal and not overwhelming. In terms of compatibility, the Bona Mega ONE SEMI Gloss can be applied over other water-based products with proper sanding prep work. However, it is recommended to use a water-based stain with this clear coat. Some customers noted that the product has a good shelf life when kept cool and unopened. However, it was mentioned that the water resistance of Bona Mega ONE SEMI Gloss is not as good as Bona's two-part finishes. It is still better than standard polyurethane and is easier to use. Customers have successfully used it on kitchen cabinet doors and around sinks, but caution is advised with alcohol-based cleaners.
